WHO DOES THE CONSULTANT DER WORK FOR?
You. WE WORK FOR YOU. We are regulated by the FAA-ACO (Federal Aviation Administration Aircraft Certification Office) but independent of the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). If you need better options like salvaging the part, massaging the SRM repair, deviating from accepted practice, then a DER may FAA approve these options.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A COMPANY DER OR AR AND A CONSULTANT DER?
A Company DER's or AR'S authority is limited to their company's product and policies. Many Consultant DER's authority is not limited by any OEM or company. All report and are limited by the FAA.
DOES A DER SIGN OFF A 337?
No. We approve data via FAA Form 8110-3.
